Cameroon is located in Central Africa and is bordered by Nigeria, Chad, the Central African Republic, the Republic oc Congo, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon. It is slightly larger than the state of California. The climate varies from a tropical coastal plain to semiarid and hot in the north. Sometimes referred to as “the hinge of Africa”, there are various thermal springs and indications of prior volcanic activity. Mount Cameroon (13,350 ft)is the highest point in the country, and is also an active volcano. The capital of Cameroon is Yaoundé.
