Guatemala is a country in Central America bordered by Mexico to the north and west, Pacific Ocean to the southwest, Belize to the northeast, the Caribbean to the east, and Hondurus and El Salvador to the southeast. Guatemala is about the size of the state of Tennessee, and consists of three main regions: the cool highlands, which boast the heaviest population, the tropical area along the Pacific and Caribbean coasts, and the tropical jungle in the northern lowlands. The capital is Guatemala City.
