13990	Japanese Father Snow Individually numbered, limited to one year production For most Japanese who observe Christmas, which is only about one percent of the population, it is a purely secular holiday devoted to the love of their children and the giving of gifts. Nevertheless, stores and homes are usually decorated with evergreens during the season. Christmas originally in Japan was introduced by the Christian missionaries and is now an annual fiesta of blending the spiritual fervor with enthusiasm and fun. The ancient Japanese priest ‘Hoteiosho’ makes for an excellent Santa Claus figure. ‘Hoteiosho’ is portrayed as a kind old man with a huge sack on his back. In Japan Christmas trees are decorated with small toys, dolls, paper ornaments, gold paper fans, lanterns and wind chimes. Miniature candles are placed among the branches and one of the most popular ornaments is the origami crane. 13989	Snowman Santa Individually numbered, limited to one year production The Snowman Santa has made some wonderful snowmen dolls for children around the world, especially those who live in the land of snow and glaciers. Since everything is so white in the mountains and snow covered plains, Santa has wrapped all the gift packages in bright red papers to add cheerful color under the Christmas tree. Santa himself wears a bright red scarf and hat so as not to blend into the icy terrain. The anxious childrens imagination can see him coming from miles away and anxiously await his jovial arrival. The Snowman Santa was inspired by the many cold, snow-filled winters of Door County, Wisconsin, where Pipka lives and spends endless hours in her quaint, inspirational studio. 13988	MacNicholas Limited to 1 year production, Individually Numbered A Scottish Christmas, filled with customs old and new, skits, games, food and merriments, survives the 1652 British Parliament act banning Christmas as too "pagan" and "pope-ish." Reinstated a decade later, the Scots have spent the 350 years since blending Celtic customs with modern day traditions giving Christmas holidays a special Scottish glow. Often referred to as MacNicholas, the Scottish Father Christmas, dressed in Highland costume, brings all the necessary trimmings for an authentic Scottish yuletide. His sack carries a Scotch Pine, brightly wrapped packages, a bright blue fishing boat, and a Scottish Terrier all certain to light up the eyes of a wee lad or lassie. The ubiquitous Yule log, tied to the sack and wrapped in ribbon and mistletoe, will be placed in the hearth where the fire has been rekindled with the remnants of the previous year's Yule log. Wassail is a favorite among the delicious foods and beverages served at Christmas time. This drink, consisting of ale, roast apples, eggs, sugar and spices, is stirred up for young and old alike. Tis customary to leave a meat pie and a jug of wassail for Father Christmas, much like we leave milk and cookies for Santa.
