A beauty
in both sight and sound, Porter's Baroque Music Box features an inlay
design of the early classic style. Musical instruments embellish the
lid, front and side panels. Unlike more modern and simple styles,
classic early inlay features painstaking and delicate hand decorating.
Each inlay design is registered and copyrighted exclusively by Porter
Music Box Company, Inc.
Every Baroque instrument contains two of Porter's
own combs, each with 76 teeth that play the richest, fullest music
imaginable from an instrument this size. The complete, spring-wound
clockworks which drive a 15 1/2" copper-plated disc are also
manufactured in our shop to the strictest standards. A gentle winding
will provide 20 minutes of uninterrupted music, showcasing five octaves
and a dazzling harmonic range. The convenience of an optional electric
motor is often preferred to hand winding.
Production of the Limited Series will be suspended
after 150 instruments are created. Each will be labeled with a certified
serial number.
