Each year Possible Dreams creates a few Santas designed by independant artisits who have their own childhood vistions of the jolly guy.
Elfie Benvennti
Trained in porcelain and ceramic techniques in Art school, she
turned her attention to the jeweler's art. It was during her
undergraduate studies she started to feel her calling as a sculptor.
Harris now works independently in a variety of media including
sculpture, jewelry, and, more recently, photography. She is
also co-owner and manager of Harris Benvenuti Inc. a design firm.
Lyn Fletcher
Over the years, multi-talented artist Lyn Fletcher has designed many
popular Clothtique Santas for the Possible Dreams American Artist
Collection. "Although I love drawing flowers, birds and
wildlife, there's nothing I like better than drawing people," she
confides. "I especially like illustrating them in warm, funny
situations, the way Norman Rockwell did. Realism has always
been an important part of the Clothtique magic.
Tom Browning
Just a glance at one of renowned artist Tom Browning's Clothtique
Santas brings a feeling of nostalgia for a bygone era. Tom's
subject matter has changed over the years from wildlife to
landscapes, still life to figure work. "I'm a little more
romantic now," he admits. And that romance is evident in every
Santa Claus he creates. Collectors of his paintings understand
his enormous talent.
Joyce Clevland
Joyce Cleveland's background includes textiles, children's products
and packaging but she always finds the time to illustrate.
"From humorous and cute to wildlife and realism, I like to make
people smile and have fun with life." That rosy perspective is
evident in every Clothtique Santa she creates. Sparkling eyes,
a friendly smile, and subject matter that always celebrate the
spirit of old St. Nick.
