About The Artist

Sandra Brue
 |
Sandra Brue was born in
Chicago, Illinois. When she was three years old, her family moved to San Diego,
California. Sandra's artistic ability came from her father, a plumbing
contractor by trade. In his free time, he enjoyed calligraphy and photography.
Sandra inherited her business sense, persistence, and creativity from her
mother, who was born in Italy. As a gifted seamstress, she taught Sandra the
importance of quality workmanship and attention to detail. The youngest of four
children, Sandra showed artistic talent early on by carving animal sculptures
from Ivory soap. Her love for animals grew from her childhood as well. Sandra
was allowed to keep most animals she brought Home Page as long as they were male. Her
father, a responsible pet owner ahead of his time, made sure that the family
"zoo" would not grow beyond a manageable size through unwanted
litters.
Sandra Brue lives in San
Diego and enjoys traveling, reading, theater, dining out, and crossword puzzles.
She is a history buff who is especially interested in ancient Roman times. She
studied art at the University of San Diego and San Diego State University. Prior
to starting Sandicast, Sandra was a freelance graphic designer for 12 years. She
has four grown children and four grandchildren. Pets include an English Mastiff
dog, Brutus, and two cats, Ansel and Cinder. She is active in the community and
serves on several boards
