My venture into
woodcarving began with a surprise birthday present of knives and chisels in
1993. I had never thought of woodcarving before but fell in love with the
process immediately. Having studied painting and sculpture at The School of the
Art Institute of Chicago, woodcarving was a wonderful combination of the two
mediums. I have been a devoted woodcarver ever since.
My favorite subject matter to work with are
the whimsical characters of the holidays, particularly Halloween and Christmas.
All of my pieces are produced entirely by hand. I carve each piece from linden
or cedar then bring them to life with paint in great detail. Every original
piece is then signed and dated.
