Ferdinand placed a small, hand-carved wax figure of the Christ Child in a hollowed area of a tree, and afterward he was cured of epilepsy. Located in Steyr, Austria, Christkindl Church is built near the site where a pilgrimage to honor the Christ Child first began in 1695. Includes historical information.
